Neton Vega’s ‘Loco’ Reaches Top 10 on Hot Latin Songs Chart

Corridos singer-songwriter Netón Vega is igniting curiosity with new single “Loco.” His first venture into reggaetón, the track rallies 18-2 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated Jan. 11), to become his fourth top 10 and ties his best rank. The chart blends streams, airplay and sales to rank the most popular Latin songs of the week in the U.S. Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news The Mexican singer-songwriter (from La Paz, Baja California Sur) is set to release his debut album, De Mi Vida Mi Muerte, on Jan. 20 (his birthday), which will house “Loco” as its first single. The song traces its new No. 2 peak largely to 8 million official U.S. streams (up 166%) registered during the Dec. 27-Jan. 2 tracking week, according to Luminate. It unlocks Vega’s second No. 1 on Latin Streaming Songs. With the percentage increase, “Loco” also launches at No. 44 on the all-genre Streaming Songs chart and locks a No. 50 debut on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. Vega, known more for corridos and penning songs for Peso Pluma and Tito Double P, has also collaborated with Natanael Cano, Gabito Ballesteros, Luis R Conriquez and other regional Mexican greats, with songs that have earned him three other top 10s on the Hot Latin Songs chart. Among them are “Si No Quieres No” with Conriquez and “La Patrulla” with Pluma; both reached a No. 2 high in June and September 2024, respectively. In comes “Loco,” released Dec. 20 via Josa Records, for Vega’s first Hot Latin Songs top 10 of the new year and a new sound that has conquered the Latin rhythm audience. The reggaetón track has generated a combined 63,000 videos on TikTok. No video for the song has been released yet. On a global leval, “Loco” earns Vega his highest debut on the Billboard Global 200, starting at No. 57, the Hot Shot debut of the week, with 20.3 million streams worldwide. Plus, it launches at No. 132 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 12.4 million clicks outside the States. Further, following his change of sound, Vega secures his first appearance on the Billboard Artist Hot 100. The chart measures artists’ activity across key metrics of music consumption: album sales, track sales, radio airplay and streaming. Using a methodology comprising those metrics, the chart provides a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity. Bad Bunny’s Second Single From New Album Debuts Also on Hot Latin Songs, two songs from Bad Bunny’s sixth solo studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, rank in the top 10. “El Clúb” moves 10-9 with 4.6 million audience impressions and 4.5 million official U.S. streams. “Pitorro de Coco,” meanwhile, visits the chart for the first time, starting at No. 10, for Benito’s record-extending 79 career top 10s. The song registered 5.2 million official streams, suffice for a No. 9 debut on Latin Streaming Songs. Elsewhere, “Pitorro de Coco” makes its debut across four other charts: No. 91 on Billboard Hot 100, No. 103 on Billboard Global 200, No. 135 on Global Excl. U.S. and No. 2 on Latin Digital Song Sales. Source link

13 Chart Records Set During the 21st Century

“Singer gets first national chart ink exclusively in Billboard,” read a caption on page 65 of the issue dated July 1, 2006. “Song title name-checks fellow artist.” The blurb included an arrow pointing directly to the single debuting at the No. 60 anchor spot on the Hot Country Songs chart: “Tim McGraw,” by then-16-year-old Taylor Swift. By the end of the first quarter of the 21st century, Swift had rewritten numerous vaunted Billboard chart records. As Billlboard celebrates the first 25 years of the 21st century with charts recapping the top artists, albums and songs in that span, we’re also looking back at some of the most impressive achievements on the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart earned by Swift — the No. 1 act on Billboard’s Top Artists of the 21st Century retrospective. Below, check out 13 of Swift’s most news-making feats on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 through the end of 2024 (and run down even more here). Plus, browse highlights of Billboard’s Top Artists of the 21st Century chart and the entire 100-position ranking in Billboard’s charts menu. Then, check back Thursday (Jan. 9) for the unveiling of Billboard’s Top Billboard 200 Albums of the 21st Century chart and Friday (Jan. 10) for the premiere of Billboard’s Top Hot 100 Songs of the 21st Century chart. Billboard’s Top Artists, Top Billboard 200 Albums and Top Hot 100 Songs of the 21st Century recaps reflect performance on weekly charts dated Jan. 1, 2000, through Dec. 28, 2024. The Top Artists category ranks the best-performing acts in that span based on activity on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100. (Titles released prior to mid-1999 are excluded, although such entries that appeared on the Billboard 200 or Hot 100 in that span contribute to the calculation of the Top Artists chart.) Funniest LiAngelo Ball ‘Tweaker’ Memes

LaVar Ball’s only rival might be the late Joe Jackson. LiAngelo Ball #18 of the Charlotte Hornets stands on the court in the fourth quarter during a preseason game at Spectrum Center on Oct. 5, 2022 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Eakin Howard/Getty Images This song is everywhere. Last night (Jan. 7), the Inside the NBA TNT crew played “Tweaker” throughout various breaks and highlights. South Carolina Women’s Basketball head coach Dawn Staley liked the song enough to record herself listening to it during practice and posted it on her Instagram. Multiple professional locker rooms celebrated wins as “Tweaker” in the background, like the Detroit Lions after beating the Vikings for the division and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. The song has even been referenced on the news in West Virginia. Since that clip of LiAngelo Ball aka G3 aka Gelo played the song in his car for popular streamer n3on, the song has truly taken on a life of its own. Some hate the track and think it’s mid, while others are having fun with the novelty of it all. Either way, he’s winning — because he’ll be performing at Rolling Loud California later this year and the song is doing numbers on Spotify and YouTube, with over four million plays and counting on both platforms. After years of trying to make it and stay in the NBA, the middle Ball brother may have finally found his true calling. “Tweaker” is resonating with folks because it sounds like the music they grew up on, and it has a catchy hook. There’s also the novelty factor: People are going to have fun with a song made by someone out of the Ball family. We’ve missed the family’s patriarch LaVar’s antics, and his son coming out with a banger is going to get some attention. Whether you’re a fan of the song or not, you really can’t get too mad at those that are choosing to have some fun with it. Social media loves the song — especially users on X — so we compiled a list of some of the funnier memes we’ve come across this past week or so. Check out our picks below. Drake Teases New Music in Return to Studio: ‘I Thought This Through’

For Drake, his next move better be his best move. The 6 God revealed he’s back in the studio as he turns the page to a clean slate in the new year. Drizzy took to Instagram for a colorful post on Tuesday night (Jan. 7) as he got back to work while showing off his studio setup while rocking a crochet hat and baby blue silk top matching his Chrome Hearts travel bag. “I thought this through,” Drake captioned the post. Another photo also found him donning a money sign chain to go with his nails painted with the same symbol. The money signs have previously been hinting toward his upcoming collab album with PartyNextDoor, but the highly anticipated project remains without a release date. Plenty of Drake’s peers hopped into the comments section, hyped at the idea of new music being on the way. Sexyy Red, Reese LaFlare, Blocboy JB and even Riff Raff showed him some love. “They ain’t ready,” Big Sexyy wrote. Drake kicked off 2025 making a statement with the arrival of his “Fighting Irish Freestyle,” which was quickly scrubbed from its producer Conductor Williams’ YouTube account following its release. On the track, Drizzy appeared to be targeting NBA star LeBron James, who was in attendance for Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out concert in June. The Fighting Irish also served as the mascot for LeBron’s high school team when he attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Ohio. “The world fell in love with the gimmicks, even my brothers got tickets, seemed like they loved every minute/ Just know the s–t is personal to us and wasn’t just business/ Analyzing behavioral patterns is somewhat suspicious,” Drake raps on the track. Travis Barker’s Kids Landon & Alabama Evacuate Amid LA Wildfires

Travis Barker‘s children Landon and Alabama are safe and sound amid the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County’s Pacific Palisades.  Both the rock star’s son and daughter — whom he shares with ex-wife Shanna Moakler — gave updates on Instagram Stories as wind-fueled flames rapidly traveled across parts of L.A. Tuesday night (Jan. 7). “Just evacuated praying for everyone the fires have [affected],” wrote 21-year-old Landon, sharing a dimly lit selfie showing only part of his face.  “Just evacuated from my home due to wild fires in Los Angeles, please be safe !!” 19-year-old Alabama typed. “They are saying the fires are spreading football field amounts in seconds.”  The social media star added in a separate slide, “Pray for California.” Billboard has reached out to reps for Travis and Moakler for comment. The Palisades brushfire first broke out Tuesday morning and continued to expand Wednesday (Jan. 8), with L.A. County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone estimating in a recent update that the flames have now burned over 5,000 acres and counting, per CNN. More than 50,000 residents in the area have been ordered to evacuate, the outlet reports.  The Blink-182 drummer has not shared an update of his own on social media, nor has Kourtney Kardashian. The couple tied the knot 2022 and share a 1-year-old son named Rocky.   The rocker is also stepdad to 25-year-old Atiana De La Hoya, Moakler’s daughter with Oscar De La Hoya, while the Kardashians star shares 15-year-old son Mason, 12-year-old daughter Penelope and 10-year-old son Reign with ex Scott Disick. Just a couple weeks prior to the wildfire outbreak in California, the musician and Kardashian celebrated the holidays with their blended family, photos of which the latter posted on Instagram Dec. 30.  Source link
