The chart’s history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. The new Jan. 25-dated Top Album Sales chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Jan. 22. Lover: Live From Paris was exclusively available through Swift’s official web store and sold 202,500 copies in the United States in the tracking week ending Jan. 16, according to Luminate. Of that sum, 161,000 were vinyl sales — the largest sales week for a live album in the format since Luminate began tracking sales in 1991. The eight-song live project was initially released back in 2023 exclusively as a limited-edition heart-shaped, color double-vinyl set, sold only through Swift’s web store. It spent one week on Top Album Sales at No. 5 and on the Billboard 200 at No. 58 in 2023. The project commemorates Swift’s City of Lover concert in Paris at the Olympia on Sept. 9, 2019 — her final live show until the kickoff of The Eras Tour in March 2023. Earlier in January 2025, Lover: Live From Paris was briefly restocked on vinyl in Swift’s web store, with an expected ship date to fans on or before Jan. 20. The set’s sales in the latest tracking week were also bolstered by its limited availability (for the last six hours of the chart’s tracking week) on four digital album variants in Swift’s web store, with three of those each boasting one unique bonus live track culled from The Eras Tour. After reality TV stars Heidi Montag and husband Spencer Pratt lost their home in the Pacific Palisades wildfire in Los Angeles, an outpouring of support drives Montag’s 2010 album Superficial and its songs to debuts across a range of Billboard’s charts (all dated Jan. 25) – including the Billboard 200, Top Album Sales, Top Dance Albums and Hot Dance/Pop Songs. Montag herself also graces the Billboard Artist 100 chart for the first time, which ranks the most popular artists of the week. Montag and Pratt, who are best known for their roles on MTV’s The Hills, took to social media after the loss of their home to encourage fans to purchase the album and stream its songs to help the family rebuild and generate income. The couple posted dozens of social media posts across their accounts, driving fans to engage with the music. All of Billboard’s new Jan. 25, 2025-dated charts will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Jan. 22 (one day later than usual, owed to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday in the United States on Jan. 20). Following the couple’s initial fan appeal on social media, and the subsequent campaign that was triggered, the pair joined Billboard’s Tetris Kelly for a TikTok livestream to chat about the fan response. In their discussion, Montag and Pratt revealed that there is more music coming, possibly with some well-known collaborators, and even how the president of a major record label reached out to them to chat. Montag also added, “We really want to focus on getting a portion back to the community too, so we’re trying to figure out how to incorporate charities into everything we’re doing.” On the Album Charts Montag’s 2010 album, Superficial, debuts at No. 53 on the Billboard 200, No. 2 on Top Dance Albums, No. 4 on Top Album Sales, No. 9 on Independent Albums and No. 13 on Catalog Albums (No. 13). Until this week, Montag had visited the Billboard charts just twice – with the single “More Is More” reaching No. 27 on the Dance Club Songs chart in 2009 (based on reported club plays of the song by DJs) and Superficial reaching No. 41 on the Heatseekers Albums chart in 2010. Superficial earned 15,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Jan. 16, according to Luminate, with album sales (all digital) accounting for 11,000. Collectively, the set’s songs generated 3.5 million on-demand official streams in the tracking week and sold 12,000 downloads. On the Song Charts Montag also debuts a pair of songs on Billboard’s newly launched Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart. “I’ll Do It” and “Superficial” arrive at Nos. 5 and 9, thanks to significant streaming and digital song sales gains. The cuts also enter at Nos. 2 and 4 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart. During the tracking week, “I’ll Do It” tallied 1.4 million U.S. official streams (up 531%) and 6,000 downloads sold (up from a negligible figure), while “Superficial” raked in 462,000 streams (up 7,900%) and 5,000 downloads (also up from a negligible figure). TikTok contributed to the song’s growth, with a sped-up remix of “I’ll Do It” having soundtracked over 462,000 clips on the platform to date. The original has been used in over 45,000 videos. Montag Among the Top 20 Most Popular Artists of the Week On the Billboard Artist 100 chart, which ranks the 100 most popular artists of the week, Montag debuts at No. 17. As the world nears a decade since Faith No More‘s last large-scale live show, longtime keyboardist and guitarist Roddy Bottum has admitted that he’s as unclear about the band’s future as anyone. Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news Bottum, who has performed with the band since they established themselves as Faith No More in 1983, made the admission during a recent interview with Chile’s Radio Futuro when he was asked about the current state of the band. “I don’t know. I honestly don’t know,” Bottum admitted. “And you don’t have to believe me, but there’s nothing… Right now we’re in a really weird spot, a really strange spot, and I can’t really tell you what’s going on. I don’t know myself. I get different information from people, and I’m in the band.” Bottum also asserted that he’s not the one calling the shots in the band, stating, “Not really. If I did, probably we’d be playing in Chile next week.” Originally emerging out of the San Francisco group Sharp Young Men, Faith No More adopted their most famous moniker in 1983, and released a total of six albums prior to their dissolution in 1998. Their biggest successes came about following the inclusion of vocalist Mike Patton in 1988, with their following albums – 1989’s The Real Thing and 1992’s Angel Dust – peaking at No. 11 and No. 10 on the Billboard 200, respectively. The group reunited in 2009, touring globally before releasing their Sol Invictus album in 2015. That same year resulted in the band’s final shows, though a pair of dates took place in 2016 with former vocalist Chuck Mosley to celebrate the reissue of their 1985 debut, We Care a Lot. Mosley would pass away one year later at the age of 57. Faith No More had initially planned to make their live return in 2020, though shows across the U.S., Europe, and Australia were later postponed due to the COVID pandemic. In 2021, the dates were canceled entirely, with Patton announcing his activities with Faith No More and Mr. Bungle had been shelved due to “mental health reasons” which he later explained was a diagnosis of agoraphobia. While Patton and Mr. Bungle would later return to the stage, Faith No More have remained quiet ever since, with Bottum describing the band’s current status as being on a “semi permanent hiatus” in October 2024. Travis Barker is showing his respect for the firefighters who continue to risk their lives in order to contain and extinguish the catastrophic Los Angeles fires. The Blink-182 drummer was photographed at the Rose Bowl Complex in Pasadena, California, earlier this week, where he met with incarcerated firefighters on the front lines and members of the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, a network for formerly incarcerated individuals and advocates for criminal justice reform. Save people. Help people. And becoming men in the process.” He continued, “I love the awareness that the Anti-Recidivism Coalition is bringing to the incarcerated guys working these fires. A lot of them came from the juvenile system and this program gives them the ability for real change and to make a difference. Central Cee shared the tracklist for his long-awaited debut album Can’t Rush Greatness on Tuesday (Jan. 21), days ahead of its release via CC4L and Columbia Records. The 17-track LP features previously released singles “BAND4BAND,” featuring Lil Baby, “Gen Z Luv” and “GBP,” featuring 21 Savage. “BAND4BAND” hit No. 1 on the U.K. Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart and reached No. 3 on the U.K. Singles chart. In the U.S., the collab reached No. 2 on Rhythmic Airplay, No. 6 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. Can’t Rush Greatness will feature more collabs with Young Miko (“Gata”), Dave (“CRG”), Lil Durk (“Truth in the Lies”) and Skepta (“Ten”). Cench and Dave’s track will arrive two years after their joint four-track EP Split Decision, which included the summer hit “Sprinter” that became the longest-running No. 1 rap song in the U.K. with its 10-week reign. “Sprinter” also reached the top 10 of the Billboard Global 200. Don Toliver and J-Hope previewed their new Pharrell-produced collaboration “LV Bag” during the Louis Vuitton FW25 show in Paris on Tuesday (Jan. 21). Pharrell and his frequent collaborator Nigo walked out and greeted J-Hope and other notable front row spectators such as Travis Scott and Bradley Cooper while the song was playing. J-Hope already teased “new music on the way” this year in his “Beginning of a New Dream” YouTube video, with the “2025. 03.” caption suggesting a new song will be out in March. It would mark J-Hope’s first new track since his discharge from the army last October and first release since his six-track EP Hope On the Street Vol. 1 last March, which featured collabs with his BTS bandmate Jungkook on “I Wonder,” Benny Blanco and Nile Rodgers on “Lock/Unlock,” and Le Sserafim’s Huh Yunjin on “I Don’t Know.” Toliver released his latest album Hardstone Psycho in June, which featured collabs with his Cactus Jack label boss Travis Scott, Kodak Black, Charlie Wilson, Cash Cobain, Future, Metro Boomin, Teezo Touchdown, Lil Uzi Vert and Yeat. Zimmerman posted a video to Instagram on Tuesday (Jan. 21), directly addressing his Crash My Playa performance. “I was always raised up to hit my problems head-on, and never to lie, and always be truthful and honest, even when you’re embarrassed,” he started his video message. “So, I’d like to talk about something that’s been eatin’ me alive. Last weekend, down in Cancun, Mexico, I’m sure everybody’s seen the videos of me playing absolutely awful, and singing absolutely awful. And, I feel like you guys deserve an explanation from me, because you’ve had my back through the highs and lows, and through every mistake.” He continued, “What happened was, I decided to drink that day, which was a mistake, and I got up onstage and I was too drunk to play. And I sang awful, I played awful, nobody got the show that they wanted or paid for, and I’m disappointed in myself. If you’ve been to my shows, you know how much I’ve talked about God since day one, and it was an awful representation of that. And to anybody, like I said, that’s embarrassed of me, I’m there. Metro Boomin has revealed that he’s currently working on Young Thug‘s album — which will be the rapper’s first since being released from jail in November after spending more than 900 days in custody. The St. Louis producer made the revelation on his Instagram Story while also seemingly addressing the alleged news that his rental yacht caught on fire in Miami over the weekend. “Don’t believe everything you see online,” he wrote. “Clout got the world in a chokehold. Back to working on [Young Thug’s] album.” According to Miami news outlet Local 10, “a massive yacht burst into flames while it was docked behind the Booby Trap on the River strip club.” Michael Marhefka, the director of security at the club claimed the 95-foot yacht was connected to Metro. “Around 3 o’clock the boat arrived, it was Metro Boomin,” he said. “The boat pulled up and they were on the boat maybe 30 minutes at the dock and we noticed what sounded like fire alarms going off. When we looked at the boat, we did see some smoke inside the boat. We made the determination to evacuate the boat immediately.” Thug has been keeping himself busy since coming home. The Atlanta rapper has reportedly been in the studio with Lil Baby and Future, and the three of them are supposedly working on a joint project together. “There probably won’t be a me and Future tape anymore because Thug is back.
