Travis Scott has released the visual to his “4×4” video and he’s feeling some Texas pride while representing his home state. The frenetic clip arrived on Friday (Jan. 24) just hours after his first single of 2025 hit streaming services. La Flame moves like the president as he’s escorted by the Secret Service across the city and then heads to the gridiron where he directs a marching band on the football field. Scott actually performed “4×4” atop the Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s roof with a marching band as part of the College Football Playoff National Championship’s halftime show on Monday (Jan. 20). Being a big-time WWE fan, it’s no surprise to see Scott incorporate some wrestling moves into the “4×4” visual. Trav flexes his “4×4” championship belt and then heads to the ring where he sprays water like a fountain in an homage to Triple H’s signature move. “4×4” served as the official theme song for WWE’s Raw when it debuted on Netflix earlier in the month. Scott himself pulled up to Raw‘s Netflix debut at L.A.’s Intuit Dome with his hardcore championship belt in hand and escorted Jey Uso to the ring for his match. Elsewhere in the clip, Travis dances around in a Texas state flag, but the video delivers a heart-racing finish with Scott in a car chase as law enforcement choppers and a line-up of police vehicles follow him ala O.J. Simpson in 1994. “4×4” kicks off what should be a busy year for Travis Scott as he heads into a new era of music and is slated to headline Coachella in April. Weezy didn’t specify which exact verse off the song was his best, but it’s safe to assume he meant all three because he went off on that song, even more so when you remember that he was only 15 years old when he recorded them. Kai Cenat and Ye — formerly Kanye West — have come a long way since feuding last year. The duo seem to be on good terms these days, as Cenat revealed he’s headed to Japan for a trip and he’s confident there will be a stream with the rapper. Cenat hopped on a stream earlier this week where he relayed to the chat that he’s been in contact with Ye daily and Yeezy seems to be in a “great mood.” “I was on the phone with Ye,” Cenat said. “Ye is ready for me to come to Japan so we gotta hurry up and do that … Ye is ready for me to come out to Japan, bro. And it’s time … He’s in a great mood, bruh. I feel like he’s in a happy mood because the album’s coming out and s–t. This could probably be a big a– prank. The Eagles had a new face in town to kick off its 2025 run of residency gigs at Las Vegas’ Sphere. At the veteran band’s gig Jan. 17, they took the stage with veteran Dallas session guitarist Chris Holt, who was introduced to the audience by singer-drummer-guitarist Don Henley. Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news In a video posted Idol Records, Henley welcomed Holt “on the first night of his side hustle with the Eagles.” The Dallas Morning News reported on Thursday (Jan. 23), that Holt is replacing longtime Eagles guitarist Steuart Smith, who recently announced that after a nearly 25-year run with the group, he was stepping down due to a diagnosis of Parkinsonism, a neurological condition that causes slow movements, tremors and stiffness. “I’m trying to fill the giant shoes of all three that came before me,” Holt told the paper in reference to previous Eagles guitarists Don Felder and Bernie Leadon. “It’s some of the most beautiful guitar work ever recorded, in my opinion. It’s the highest honor for me to do it, and it’s my duty to get it right.” The paper noted that Smith and Holt are good friends who’ve performed together in the past in Henley’s solo band. Smith, who has played with country luminaries including Dolly Parton, Roseanne Cash and Vince Gill, started his gig as a touring member of the Eagles in 2001, after the veteran group booted longtime member Felder. Holt, who has played with everyone from Bob Dylan to Ringo Starr, James Taylor, Stevie Nicks, the Chicks and, most recently Heartbreakers member Mike Campbell’s Dirty Knobs, told the Morning News that playing guitar and singing harmony with the Eagles as part of their Long Goodbye tour is “definitely challenging.” “There’s a ton of iconic lead guitar to play — solos that people know every note of — so you wanna make sure you get the tones and the phrasing just right,” he said. “The Eagles are legendary perfectionists and the parts are tricky, so it’s no easy feat to nail it, every time.” The Eagles kicked off its Sphere residency in September with Smith, who the paper said revealed his departure in a recent statement: “I must bow out of my role with the Eagles while I can still do so gracefully. It’s been a great quarter of a century, and I had hoped to be able to finish out this year with the band. But I must now do what’s best for all concerned.” The paper also noted that in a separate statement, Henley– the group’s only remaining original member — thanked Smith for his long tenure. “The Eagles will be forever grateful for the extraordinary talents that he brought to both our recordings and live performances,” he said. “Steuart will be greatly missed, but he will always be a part of our musical family.
