Billie Eilish and Finneas are two of several stars who appear in a new Together for Palestine video, which calls for an end to the widespread violence and killing taking place in Gaza.
Posted just a few hours ahead of Brian Eno’s Together for Palestine benefit concert at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on Wednesday (Sept. 17), the clip finds the pop hitmakers joining forces with Cillian Murphy, Javier Bardem, Brian Cox, Joaquin Phoenix and several more famous faces in turning up the pressure on political leaders across the globe to intervene in Israel’s efforts against Hamas. Over the past two years, the country has waged war on the terrorist group while killing more than 65,000 Palestinians — and displacing countless others as they face mass starvation — in the process.
The video also comes one day after a United Nations commission determined that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people, something the country’s foreign ministry dismissed as a “distorted and false report” in a response.
“Together for Palestine,” Eilish and her brother say in the video, appearing side by side with hopeful smiles as the singer holds up the camera.
“We have to tell the truth on behalf of the people of Palestine,” Cox says gravely in the clip.
The Together for Palestine organization aims to continue raising awareness with a fundraising event spearheaded by Eno, who has been vocal in his support for the Palestinian people. Bastille, Damon Albarn, James Black, Paloma Faith, Rachel Chinouriri and numerous other artists are set to perform songs at the benefit, while Amelia Dimoldenbeg, Bendedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh, Jameela Jamil, Louis Theroux, PinkPantheress and more will make appearances to encourage viewers to donate.
Every cent the event raises will be distributed to “Palestinian organizations operating on the ground in Gaza,” according to Together for Palestine’s website.
The new video isn’t the first time Eilish has expressed her feelings on the crisis in Gaza. After wearing an “Artists for Ceasefire” pin at the 2024 Oscars, she publicly condemned Israel’s plans to forcibly relocate millions of Palestinians. “Horrifying,” she wrote of the proposal in July.
