Bon Jovi Revisits ‘Forever’ Album With Jelly Roll, Springsteen & More

Bon Jovi is taking a second look at its 2024 Forever album with help from some famous friends. Island Records will issue Forever (Legendary Edition) on Oct. 24 reimaged as a collaborations album with band duetting with Bruce Springsteen, Robbie Williams, Lainey Wilson, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, Jelly Roll and more. Bon Jovi and Springsteen’s version of the album’s “Hollow Man” comes out Friday (Aug. 29), as does new song, “Red, White and Jersey.” Explore See latest videos, charts and news The original album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 last June and No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart, with single “Legendary” reaching No. 9 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The album dropped off the Billboard 200 after one week. In a statement, Jon Bon Jovi said the band decided to revisit the album because, in part, he felt the album’s cycle was hampered by the inability to tour and properly promote the set because of his vocal cord surgery. “This album is more than just a collection of collaborations, it is an album borne out of necessity. My vocal cord surgery and subsequent rehab was a well-documented journey that played out while releasing Forever in June 2024,” the statement read. “Without the ability to tour or promote an album we were all very proud of, I decided to call on some friends to help me in my time of need. All are great singers, artists, and also just great people. The result is an album with a new viewpoint and new spirit — a collaboration album that proves we all get by in this world with a little help from our friends.  I feel tremendous joy and gratitude releasing this album and I think it shows in the music.  I can say with certainty that there is always something bigger than ME, and that’s WE.” A number of the artists, including Springsteen, Jelly Roll, Wilson, Jason Isbell and The War & Treaty, helped honor Jon Bon Jovi when he was feted as MusiCares Person of the Year in February 2024. Check out the official tracklist for Forever (Legendary Edition) below: 1. Red, White, and Jersey 2. Legendary (with James Bay) 3. We Made It Look Easy (with Robbie Williams) 4. TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s ACT: TOMORROW Tour: Seoul Show Review

TOMORROW X TOGETHER successfully launched its new world tour, ACT: TOMORROW, in Seoul on Aug. 22 and 23. Following the group’s first solo concert, ACT: BOY, held online in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, TOMORROW X TOGETHER has gone on to stage a series of tours, including ACT: LOVESICK, ACT: SWEET MIRAGE, ACT: PROMISE, and the latest one, ACT: TOMORROW. As the titles suggest, each tour reflects the band’s evolving narrative and mirrors the growth and journey of its members. During the ACT: PROMISE tour, which lasted about a year from May 2024 to May 2025, TOMORROW X TOGETHER members performed on iconic stages such as the four major domes in Japan and Madison Square Garden in New York City. TXT also expanded its performances to include the group’s first European tour in cities including Barcelona, London, Berlin, Paris and Amsterdam Following the release of the band’s digital single “Love Language” in May and its fourth full-length album The Star Chapter: TOGETHER in July, TOMORROW X TOGETHER has been working more diligently than ever this year. So what makes their new tour stand out? Billboard Korea highlights the four reasons. 1. The Completion of TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Narrative The group name TOMORROW X TOGETHER carries the meaning “Let’s stay together tomorrow as well.” In the band’s world, “tomorrow” and “together” are core keywords. The recent album title includes the expression “together,” and the new tour name incorporating “tomorrow” signifies the completion of the team’s narrative since its debut in March 2019. On the second day of the Seoul concert (Aug. 23), the members shared, “We tried to include songs that MOAs would like from all the tracks we’ve released so far,” revealing their criteria for selecting the setlist. Additionally, on the first day of the concert, the band publicly announced its re-contracting with their agency directly from the stage. The moment was an opportunity to reflect on their journey together and express their commitment to continue moving forward. In fact, the setlist for the second day of the concert was comprised of 32 songs. This number accounts for nearly one-third of the tracks released under the name of TOMORROW X TOGETHER over the past seven years. 2. First-Ever Solo Stages From the Newest Release TOMORROW X TOGETHER unveiled solo stages for all five members for the tour — a first in the group’s history. The set featured Taehyun’s “Bird of Night,” an emotional R&B track layered with synthesizer sounds; Soobin’s “Sunday Driver,” a bright, easy-listening tune; HueningKai’s “Dance With You,” brimming with groovy, sultry energy; Yeonjun’s “Ghost Girl,” a reggae-rock infused track produced by YUNGBLUD; and Beomgyu’s “Take My Half,” a heartfelt rock ballad. Together, these stages marked a milestone in the group’s artistic growth and individuality. 3. From the Debut Song to the “Beautiful Strangers” In the latter half of the concert, the stage was set with a striking visual: the hands of a clock turning backward as if rewinding time, while images of the members from their debut days filled the massive LED screen. Then the song started — it was TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s debut track, “CROWN.” Though rearranged into a lyrical acoustic version, MOA sang along to the familiar refrains of “Who you” and “I love it” with the same excitement as ever. During the remarks that followed, the members shared that hearing fans sing “who you” moved them to tears. Right after the debut track came TXT’s latest title song, “Beautiful Strangers.” It was a performance that most vividly illustrated the seven-year journey the members have walked together. It was the very moment that made it hard to hold back tears. 4. Fan-Favorite Encore Setlist TOMORROW X TOGHETHER beautifully concluded the performance by delivering meaningful songs as encore tracks. The setlist included the group’s first fan song, “MOA Diary (Dubadu Wari Wari),” its first original English track “Magic,” leader Soobin’s all-time favorite “Our Summer,” “Cat & Dog” from TXT’s debut album, the future-promising track “I’ll See You There Tomorrow” and the self-composed track “Sweat,” which was created during their trainee days. These meaningful songs, cherished by both the members and MOAs, added a special touch to the concert’s finale. TOMORROW X TOGETHER has successfully concluded its Seoul concerts and announced the renewal of all five members’ contracts too. As Soobin expressed, “Since we all naturally thought we would continue our journey together, the entire process of renewal was very smooth. It’s truly amazing.”  Following this announcement, TXT is set to embark on its fourth world tour, ACT: TOMORROW, in San Jose, Calif., on Sept. 9, and will perform in six other U.S. cities — Los Angeles; Dallas; Rosemont, Ill.; Atlanta; Washington, D.C.; and Newark, N.J. — as well as in three locations in Japan.  The group’s fourth studio album, The Star Chapter: TOGETHER, was released on July 21 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The album also arrived at No. on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart, and has maintained a top position for four consecutive weeks. Additionally, TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s fifth mini album, The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION, remained on the Billboard 200 for 19 weeks. Source link

Ian Cordova & More Artists to Discover: On the Radar Latin

Every month, Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors spotlight a group of rising artists whose music we love. Think “diamantes en bruto,” or “diamonds in the rough.” These are newcomers who have yet to impact the mainstream — but whose music excites us, and who we believe our readers should make a point to discover. Explore See latest videos, charts and news Our latest edition of On the Radar Latin includes a wave of emerging artists, who we discovered either by networking, or coming across their music at a showcase, or elsewhere. See our recommendations this month below: Name: BENITEZ Country: Venezuela Why They Should Be on Your Radar: Although he only recently made his debut as an EDM artist, BENITEZ, whose real name is Kristhyan Benítez, is an award-winning pianist and composer with an extensive career in classical music. Having released albums including the 2021 Latin Grammy winner Latin American Classics, the 2023 nominee Afro-Cuban Dances, and his latest LP, Latin American Classics, Vol. 2 (all on Steinway and Sons), the virtuoso Venezuelan artist based in Mexico City presents this new project as “an act of artistic honesty.” “After many years of a career in classical music career —which continues in parallel— I felt the need to show another side of my creative universe: one that is freer, more visceral, and linked to the rhythm, the dance floor, my Latin American roots, and the electronic music that has always inspired me,” he tells Billboard Español. This Thursday (Aug. 28) he releases his first official EP as BENITEZ, Telescopio, which he describes as “a cosmic journey where Latin soul, electronic rhythms, and the nostalgia of the dance floor turned into an observatory coexist.” — SIGAL RATNER-ARIAS Song For Your Playlist: “rouge naturel” Name: Gonza Silva Country: Venezuela Why They Should Be on Your Radar: Through songs like “Filosofía,” “Lágrimas de Sol” and “Luces de Bengala,” Venezuelan singer-songwriter Gonza Silva brings a new sensibility to Latin pop by fusing it with the honesty of indie folk and deep, reflective lyrics. With a sweet voice driven by acoustic guitars, analog textures and mandolin, Silva’s music is like an embrace for the soul, an invitation to celebrate our imperfections and connect with our inner essence. This year, Silva released his debut album under Warner Music Latina, the 12-track Pronto Estaré Bien, with the potential to resonate with a wider audience. – S.R.A. Song For Your Playlist: “Lágrimas de Sol” Name: Ian Cordova Country: Mexico-U.S. Why They Should Be on Your Radar: With over 6 million Spotify listeners and over 42 million streams across digital platforms, Ian Cordova is one of the strongest emerging voices in Mexican regional urban music — and his recent debut on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart confirms this. The 25-year-old artist just entered the charts with his ode to a lover, “Linda Mujer,” at No. 46, largely driven by streaming activity. Born in the U.S. but raised in Mexico, Cordova — whose lacerating vocals could be reminiscent of Grupo Frontera’s Payo — brings a unique and recognizable style to the booming Mexican music market. His latest single is “Qué Voy Hacer Contigo,” a sentimental, Mexican-tinged reggaetón jam about an old flame who remains on his mind. — S.R.A. Song For Your Playlist: “Linda Mujer” Name: Kane Rodriguez Country: United States Why They Should Be on Your Radar: Rodriguez has burst onto the regional Mexican scene with dizzying speed — thanks to his cover of “Se vuelto locos,” which went viral on TikTok, and has surpassed 81 million streams so far — and now has more than 4 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Unlike most singers of the tumbados movement, the 19-year-old Mexican American newcomer wasn’t born in California or Arizona, but rather in Texas. A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he blends cumbia, banda and norteño, while creating a unique identity. “I want to do everything — corridos and romanticas — music is endless, and I’ve been in contact with it at home since I was little. I come from a family of musicians,” he explains to Billboard Español. Last April, Rodriguez released his debut album, La Batuta, under La Empresa Music, the label that discovered him, and Warner Music Mexico. His growing international appeal has turned Rodriguez into one of the most promising personalities in the current música mexicana scene. His list of hits includes “On D Gas,” “Tu Forma de Ser,” “Santal 33,” “Un Pinche Beso,” “GDL,” “La Chula” and “Lo Logre.” — TERE AGUILERA Song For Your Playlist: “Lo Logre” Name: La Muchacha Country: Colombia Why They Should Be on Your Radar: While La Muchacha, born Isabel Ramírez, is hardly a newcomer, she is set to make her Los Angeles debut performing at The Ford’s Bajo La Luna show on Sunday, Aug. 31, along other must-see artists Silvia Pérez Cruz and Y La Madrigal. The gravitas of La Muchacha’s lyrics — often of resistance, reflection and mysticism — tells the somber, yet sometimes hopeful, stories of Latin America, often powered by folkloric rhythms, bold vocals and nostalgic acoustic guitars. Taking inspiration from Mercedes Sosa and Violeta Parra, La Muchacha’s songs are moving, thought-provoking and timely, making her a standout artist of her generation. — GRISELDA FLORES Song For Your Playlist: “Igualada” Name: Mama Estoy Brillando* Country: Cuba Why They Should Be on Your Radar: At a time where the tropical-tinged reparto music is dominating the Cuban urban scene, there’s a slender diamond in the rough called Mama Estoy Brillando*—who’s creating music on his own terms. The rising artist from La Habana, whose real name is Wilfredo Alejandro Sosa Espinosa, officially kicked off his music career during the 2020 Pandemic with debut single “Alter Ego” — an alternative rock song — followed by the eerie trap number “Crew.” Dubbing himself an artist with “multiple personalities,” and inspired by the artistry of Kanye West, Mama Estoy Brillando* (Mom, I’m shining), is currently making the rounds with his EP Las mil y unas noches, which flaunts his versatility, ranging from hip-hop to R&B to rock music, as best heard on “la época

Major Lazer Announce New Member America Foster & Release New Song

After a hiatus, Major Lazer is back with a new member and a new track. The longstanding group now features British-Jamaican artist America Foster, who’s joining Major Lazer alongside pre-existing members Ape Drums, Walshy Fire and Diplo. The news marks Major Lazer’s fourth configuration since its 2008 formation, with the group originally featuring Diplo and Switch, the latter of whom left the group in 2011. The group then featured Diplo, Walshy Fire and Jillionaire, with Jillionaire leaving in 2019 and being replaced by Ape Drums. Foster’s addition marks the first time the group has been a foursome and the first time it’s included a woman. She first linked with the group after collaborating with Diplo in Jamaica. Adding extra firepower to the news is Major Lazer’s new track “Gangsta,” out today (Aug. 27) through Mad Decent. The track sounds a lot like the early days of Major Lazer, which is no coincidence given that it features Jamaican dancehall artist Busy Signal, a frequent Major Lazer collaborator who made key contributions to the group’s work on the group’s 2013 monster single “Watch Out For This (Bumaye)” and other tracks. “Gangsta” also features Italian-born, Amsterdam-based basshall producer Kybba. While the track does not feature vocals from Foster, in a statement Diplo advises to “look out for her on some new music coming real soon.” “Coming back out now with America and Busy Signal feels like starting a new chapter while revisiting an old one,” he continues. “Busy Signal was a big part of our journey with Major Lazer, blessing us with his incredible vocals on ‘Bumaye,’ a massive single that helped define what Major Lazer was going to be. Now, more than a decade later, we’re starting another journey with America joining the group. It’s amazing how much she complements the dynamic we’ve already established with Walshy and Ape Drums.” “Gangsta” is the first original track from Major Lazer since 2024, when the group released “Sofia,” a single with Alok and Fuerza Regida and “Jiggy Woogie,” a collab with Don Diablo and Baby Lawd. In a recent interview with Billboard, Diplo spoke about co-writing BLACKPINK’s comeback single “Jump” and how he originally wrote it for Major Lazer, calling the latter group a place to use his wildest musical ideas. “If my crazy music doesn’t find a home,” he said, “it’s going to be released on a Major Lazer album.” Source link

Lil Wayne Congratulates Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce on Engagement

Lil Wayne is loving Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s love. At his Tuesday night (Aug. 26) concert — which just so happened to be in Kansas City — the rapper took a moment during the show to congratulate the Chiefs tight end on his recent engagement to the pop superstar. “I’m dressed in spirit,” Weezy said. “In the spirit of my man Travis and my girl, you already know, Taylor.” “Traylor!” Wayne continued, holding up a hand heart as his crowd at T-Mobile Arena loudly cheered. “That’s what we call them. Congratulations.” The sweet moment came just hours after Swift and Kelce broke the internet with the announcement of their engagement, posting photos of the athlete down on one knee and the 14-time Grammy winner showing off her new diamond ring. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they wrote in the caption. Wayne’s shoutout proves that — just like the millions of fans who also flooded social media with messages of congratulations following the announcement — he only has love for Kelce, regardless of how the hip-hop icon feels about the Chiefs. Months after performing at the athlete’s Kelce Jam festival, Wayne slammed the Kansas City for allegedly “cheating” on the field in January. “I hate the cheating azz chiefs,” Wayne wrote at the time. “It’s not even impressive when u cheat and then clearly try to cheat … Just win baby.” Shortly afterward, Kelce responded on his New Heights podcast. “Shout out to Tunechi, man,” he simply said at the time, a big smile on his face. The Grotesquerie star has also previously praised Weezy. In separate 2024 interviews with Billboard, Kelce called the rapper “one of my favorites since I was in high school” and said, “I’m a huge mixtape era guy. ‘Duffle Bag Boy’ is like one of my favorite songs of all time. I have it on my gameday playlists and everything.” Get weekly rundowns straight to your inbox Sign Up Source link

Field & Stream Festival Canceled for 2025

The Field & Stream Music Fest, which had been slated for Oct. 3-5 in Winnsboro, S.C., has been canceled for 2025. A statement from the festival’s organizers, posted on the festival’s website, noted, “Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Field & Stream Music Fest has been canceled.” Billboard has reached out to reps for the Field & Stream Festival for comment. Explore See latest videos, charts and news The festival was set to feature headliners Miranda Lambert, ZZ Top, Bailey Zimmerman, Lynyrd Sknynrd, Riley Green and Eric Church, with more performers on the lineup including Tyler Farr, Ashley McBryde, Ashland Craft, Kameron Marlowe. The statement from Field & Stream Music Fest organizers added, “The refund process will commence immediately and will cover all Field & Stream purchases tied to your order, including tickets, upgrades, camping, parking, add-ons, taxes and fees.” Last year, the festival was canceled due to Hurricane Helene. That year’s lineup was to feature Lainey Wilson, Church and ZZ Top, among others. In early 2024, it was revealed that Church and Morgan Wallen were part of an ownership group that acquired the retail side of the Field & Stream trademark. That announcement also revealed plans to launch a fall music festival. “I can remember my grandfather kept a few of his favorite Field & Stream magazines on the dash of his truck,” Church previously said in a statement. “That truck took us on hundreds of outdoor adventures and I all but memorized every story and every picture on every page. They were my Bible. It is the honor of my life to make sure that legacy carries on. It is both this responsibility to an American icon and also to a young boy in his papaw’s truck that will be the compass that guides our steps.”  Wallen previously said, “There’s nothin’ I love more than being with friends around a campfire, on a boat or in a deer stand — and Field & Stream represents all of those to me. Being part of its future is incredible and we want to keep bringing people together outdoors, makin’ memories, for generations to come.”  Source link

Danna, Mariachi, & More Surprises

Colombian superstar Shakira made her big return to the GNP Seguros Stadium in Mexico City on Tuesday (Aug. 26) for the eighth night of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour. And she delivered plenty of surprises: from Mexican star Danna becoming the tour’s first female guest, to an emotional tribute to her father with a mariachi band and fresh new outfits. In front of 60,000 fans, according to promoter OCESA, the self-proclaimed La Loba kicked off the second leg of her highly successful tour in Mexico, aiming to complete a historic run of 12 concerts at the stadium. This milestone makes her the first artist to perform that many shows at the venue (formerly known as Foro Sol), surpassing Grupo Firme’s nine dates and the upcoming eight from Bad Bunny, who is set to perform there in December as part of his DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour. “Mexico is my home. These past years haven’t been easy, but when we fall, we get back up,” Shakira told thousands of her fans, visibly moved, before performing “Estoy Aquí,” the iconic track from her 1995 album Pies Descalzos. The record, which helped her win over Mexico and Latin America, is being celebrated during this second leg of her tour. Shakira takes the stage again Wednesday (Aug. 27), Friday (Aug. 29), and Saturday (Aug.30) at the GNP Seguros Stadium, before wrapping up her record-breaking run at the venue on Sep. 18 and continuing her tour through other Latin American countries. Here are some of the surprises from her return to Mexico City. Danna & Shak Double Down On Their Friendship Shakira reaffirmed her bond with pop star Danna by inviting her on stage to perform Shak’s hit song “Soltera”. While the younger Mexican singer isn’t featured on the original version of the track, she did appear in the 2024 music video, alongside other big names like Venezuelan content creator and singer Lele Pons, and Dominican star Natti Natasha. Danna, who’s also an actress, made history as the first female artist to join the Colombian superstar on stage during her global Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour. The two stars exchanged heartfelt messages of love and mutual admiration, while nailing the sensual dance moves that are a signature part of the song’s choreography. “What a beautiful woman, what talent!” Shakira exclaimed as she embraced her colleague. “You were there at the beginning of all this, with ‘Soltera,’ supporting me.” Danna replied, “Shaki, Mexico is your home, Mexico loves you. May they keep welcoming you with this kind of love!” Shakira Can Hold Her Own When It Comes to Rancheras One of the most emotional moments of the night came during a segment the Colombian star dedicated to Mexico, where she pleasantly surprised the crowd by singing traditional Mexican music. Backed by the mariachi group Gama Mil, Shakira paid tribute to her father, William Mebarak Chadid, by performing “Sombras Nada Más,” a song made famous by the legendary ranchera singer Javier Solís. “This is dedicated to my dad, who would be so proud to see me singing this tonight,” Shakira said. A Trip Down Memory Lane During the second leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour across Latin America, Shakira took some time to revisit a few of the most iconic songs from her legendary album Pies Descalzos, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. This was the album that catapulted the Colombian star to fame across Latin America — but especially in Mexico, where she was warmly embraced as a young singer-songwriter with long, dark hair who captivated audiences with her pop-rock sound and heartfelt lyrics. Among the highlights of the night were classics from that album: “Estoy Aquí,” “Antología” and “Pies Descalzos, Sueños Blancos.” Changes to the Setlist For the second leg of her tour, the Colombian artist has made some tweaks to her repertoire, taking out a few songs and adding others. This time around, the setlist includes “Día de Enero,” which she performed during her show in Tijuana on Aug. 11 after years of not singing it, along with “Si Te Vas,” “Pies Descalzos, Sueños Blancos,” and “(Entre Paréntesis).” Meanwhile, the songs that were dropped from the list are “Poem to a Horse,” “Loca,” “Cómo Dónde y Cuándo” and “Te Aviso, Te Anuncio.” Shakira’s New Tour Outfits The outfits Shakira is rocking on this leg of her tour have gone through a few updates. For example, the bodysuit she wears under her crystal-embroidered jumpsuit at the start of the show — originally inspired by vintage Versace swimwear — has switched colors, going from pink to purple. Another standout is the outfit she wears during the Mexican segment of her show. Shakira goes full cowgirl with a norteña-styled look, complete with a cowboy hat, silver pants, and a matching fringe jacket by Mexican designer Verónica Solís. The ensemble is full of Mexican-inspired details, including hand-painted images of the Virgin of Guadalupe — who holds a special place in the culture and religious life of many Mexicans and Mexican Americans — and traditional “Milagrito” charms (Mexican hearts). Drake & PARTYNEXTDOOR’s ‘Somebody Loves Me’ Video Gets 19 Versions

With a push from Kai Cenat, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR gave creators of varying expertise the chance to direct their own music videos for “Somebody Loves Me.” After sifting through thousands of entries, Drizzy and PND brought the 19 best visions to life from different aspiring creatives, which were released on the Drake Related website on Wednesday (Aug. 27). Explore See latest videos, charts and news “Our finalists represent a diverse range of experience levels, as we were committed to giving new and emerging directors — including a few first-time directors — the opportunity to showcase their talent,” a message on the website reads. Various storylines and interpretations of “Somebody Loves Me” are delivered throughout the 19 short films. Jordan Sook’s video finds Drake and Party as puppets while sipping lean and taking a yacht out with plenty of women, and even hopping on Air Drake. Dito Andres went the animated route, with Drake and Party’s mothers serving as “celestial guardian angels looking down on their sons.” Kristen Lambie’s visual tugged on the heartstrings with the past and present on a collision course. A 70-year-old Black man is reminiscing while paying a visit to locations where he experienced the euphoria of love during his relationship. Edgar Daniel had an interesting approach, putting his spin on the visual by hosting a casting call that invited women to audition and interview for cameos in the “Somebody Loves Me” video. The idea to give aspiring directors a chance came to life in May after Kai Cenat voiced his hope to see the “Nokia” video go a different direction. Cenat and Drake then revealed the winners in June, before the 19 visuals hit the Drake Directed website on Wednesday (Aug. 27). “Somebody Loves Me” landed on Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U project in February. The standout track peaked at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100. Get weekly rundowns straight to your inbox Sign Up Source link
