Coldplay’s Chris Martin Doubles-Down on Kiss Cam After Astronomer Mess

Coldplay singer Chris Martin is an eternal optimist. The singer celebrated his band’s return to their native UK on Monday night (Aug 18) during a show at Craven Park in Kingston upon Hull by putting a positive spin on what he referred to as the Kiss Cam “debacle.” For those in need of a refresher: during a show at Gillette Stadium in Boston on July 16, a married tech CEO and his company’s lead HR staffer were caught on camera in a loving embrace during the nightly Kiss Cam bit, only to quickly duck out of frame once they realized that their affair had been exposed for all the stadium (and soon, the world). Martin joked at the time that perhaps they were having an affair, which, as it turns out, they seemingly were, which led to a tsunami of memes, the company’s CEO stepping down and the singer’s ex, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, joining Astronomer as a “temporary spokesperson” as part of a PR spin on the scandal. Well, in Hull on Monday Martin finally broke his silence on the incident, telling the crowd, “We are so happy to be here. Many of you have written signs. So, I’ll take some time to try and read some signs. Then we’ll see what happens,” according to the NME. “First of all [that sign reads:] ‘three times in three months’… You were at that Boston gig! Well, OK, thank you for coming again after that debacle.” Bringing good cheer to a moment that blew up into an international scandal, Martin added, “We’ve been doing this a long time, and it is only recently that it became a… yeah. Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.” Braving the fates, Martin continued the bit, shouting out a “sexy guy” in a pink tank top who proudly turned to the camera as the singer crooned, “Hello, my beautiful brother/ Thank you for dressing in that pink thing/ Before today I didn’t think I was gay/ Now I’ve got to do some serious thinkin’.” The band will be back at Craven Park tonight (Aug. 19) before moving on to a tour-closing, 10-show run at Wembley Stadium that will cap off the history-making three-year Music of the Spheres tour. Check out Martin’s comments below. Weggster Live in 2025 – Gig 29 ✅ Coldplay, Hull. Hull was chosen to bring in much needed revenue to the City. The crowd in Hull absolutely nailed it. Florence + the Machine Announce New Album ‘Everybody Scream’

Last week, a video of Florence Welch screaming into a hole in the ground sent fans into a frenzy. In the clip Welch – front person of Florence + the Machine – posted on her Instagram profile, she furiously digs a pit in the ground and lets out a blood-curdling yell. Explore See latest videos, charts and news Now it all makes sense. On Tuesday morning (Aug. 19) Welch announced the release of Florence + the Machine’s upcoming album, Everybody Scream, which will drop right in time for Halloween (Oct. 31). She confirmed the release in a new post on her social platforms alongside the LP’s artwork, which you can see below. At press time, only limited information for Everybody Scream has been shared. Pre-orders for the record – the Machine’s sixth studio LP – are now live and include a number of variants across physicals. The website says the LP will feature 12 new songs, though a tracklist and lead single have not yet been released revealed. Florence + the Machine released their last studio album Dance Fever in 2022, which included production from Jack Antonoff and Kid Harpoon. The record peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart.  Fans have been expecting a new release from Welch after a period of relative quiet. In 2024 Welch appeared on Taylor Swift’s “Florida!!!” from the record-breaking The Tortured Poets Department, and earlier in 2025 she had a spot on The Weeknd’s “Reflections Laughing,” from his Hurry Up Tomorrow LP. In recent weeks fans had noticed changes to the Welch’s website and Spotify profiles. Another teaser shared on Friday featured a video of Welch walking across a field in blood red shoes and matching dress. Earlier this summer, Welch shared a selection of pictures on her social profile which included a shot with IDLES guitarist Mark Bowen in the studio and a whiteboard with the message “You can have it all,” followed by the list of terms: “Clarity — Power, Purpose, Vocals!!!, Space, Dynamics, Beauty, Swans vs. Adele.” In October 2024, Florence + The Machine shared a live album taken from their performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall earlier that year. The performance for the BBC Proms saw them remodel their 2009 debut Lungs with the Jules Buckley Orchestra. Source link

BBC’s Last-Minute Scratch of Ozzy Osbourne Doc Came At Family’s Request

A day after postponing a planned Ozzy Osbourne documentary just before airtime, the BBC has said that the last-minute decision came at the family’s request. Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was slated to air on Monday night (Aug. 18) but was removed from the schedule with no explanation. In a statement, the BBC said, “Our sympathies are with the Osbourne family at this difficult time. We are respecting the family’s wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film. The new [transmission] date will be confirmed shortly.” No specific reason was given for the delay of the film, which was slated to cover the last three years of Osbourne’s life, with the participation of the rocker’s wife/manager, Sharon Osbourne, as well as two of their children, Jack and Kelly. Osbourne died on July 22 at age 76 of a heart attack, just two weeks after performing for the final time at his home soccer stadium, Villa Park, in Birmingham, England at the all-star Back to the Beginning concert. His death came just 17 days after that triumphant all-day show where his peers paid tribute to the man and his music. At press time no update was available on when the movie might air. The film was originally pitched as a 10-part series called Home to Roost chronicling Ozzy and Sharon’s return to England after years of living in Los Angeles. But when Osbourne’s health began to deteriorate due to the effects of Parkinson’s disease and surgeries to correct neck and spine issues, the focus was shifted to an hour-long film covering the final years of his life. “The resulting film is a moving portrait of one of the world’s most entertaining families at a pivotal moment in their history,” reads a description of the doc. “The strength of Ozzy and Sharon’s love for one another and their kids’ devotion to them is palpable. So too is the family’s acceptance of Ozzy becoming increasingly unwell.” The film will reportedly show Osbourne “heroically” fighting to get in good enough shape to perform at the star-studded Back to the Beginning show, where he played brief solo and Black Sabbath sets from a throne on a bill that also included sets from Metallica, Slayer, Guns N’ Roses, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Yungblud and many more. Amid the “love, laughter and tears” and endearing family moments, the doc also reportedly features scenes of Ozzy’s adult children accepting that their father is dying, with daughter Kelly commenting that “Iron man wasn’t really made of iron,” in reference to one of Sabbath’s most beloved songs. “Ozzy was loved by millions around the world not just for his music, but for his sense of mischief and his honesty, all of which we saw plenty of in the final years of his life,” said film executive producers Ben Wicks and Colin Barr. “But one thing shone through even more brightly to us and that was Ozzy’s intense love for his exceptional family who were by his side through it all.” Though the fate of the BBC doc is up in the air, other posthumous Osbourne projects are still in the works, including a 100-minute Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow doc about the last concert due in theaters in early 2026, as well as the feature-length doc covering Ozzy’s six-year struggle to recuperate from a devastating 2019 fall, Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now, which will debut on Paramount+ later this year. In addition, a memoir, Last Rites, is slated to hit shelves on Oct. 7 through Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group. Source link

Doechii Pulls Out of Two Major U.K. Festivals This Weekend

Doechii has withdrawn from the line-ups of two major U.K. festivals this coming weekend (Aug. 23, 24) with no explanation given. The “Anxiety” star was scheduled to perform at London’s All Points East and Bristol’s Forwards festival on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. On Tuesday morning (Aug. 19), both festivals shared a statement to their social media accounts explaining that Doechii would no longer be appearing on their bills. London’s All Points East wrote, “We’re very sorry to announce that Doechii will no longer be performing at her upcoming shows. She is an incredible artist, and, like all of her fans, we were hugely excited to see her on stage. All Points East has an amazing line-up including RAYE, Tyla, JADE, Jyoty, Nao and many more, and it’s set to be a truly unforgettable day.”  Explore See latest videos, charts and news Similarly, Forwards shared, “We are very sad to announce that Doechii will not be performing at her upcoming shows. She is an incredible artist and we were as excited as you were to bring her to our hometown of Bristol. We are so proud of this year’s Sunday lineup, with three amazing female headliners in Jorja Smith, The Last Dinner Party and Olivia Dean gracing our stage, as well as a plethora of other amazing musical talent across the day.” Both festivals said that they “hope to welcome” Doechii to their festivals in the future. No reason has been given for the last-minute cancellation on Doechii’s behalf; Billboard U.K. has approached Doechii’s team for comment. Doechii was also set to perform at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, France on Thursday (Aug. 21), and the festival has announced she will no longer perform. Doechii last performed in the U.K. at Glastonbury Festival in England back in June, with a set that Billboard U.K. called an “all-time great debut” at the storied event, and that it was “one for the history books.”  She has since performed at a number of festivals throughout Europe and North America over the past month, including Denmark’s Roskilde Festival and Lollapalooza in Chicago, Ill. at the start of August. She last performed at Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium on Sunday (Aug. 17). Doechii is set to tour North America from October onwards as part of her Live From the Swamp tour. Source link

Keith Urban Launches ‘Rising Star Scholarship’ For Next Country Star

Keith Urban is leading the search for the next Australian country music superstar. The Australia-raised country great has partnered with the Tamworth Country Music Festival for the Keith Urban Rising Star Scholarship, which will invite an artist from Down Under to experience life in the home of country, Nashville. The recipient will receive “unprecedented access” to Nashville’s music scene, including an opportunity to perform, write, meet industry personnel and have two days of recording time at Urban’s studio, The Sound. Explore See latest videos, charts and news The winner will have all expenses covered, including flights and accommodation. “Sometimes all a musician needs is an opportunity to be heard or someone to help nurture their talent,” comments Urban. “Having the opportunity to do that not only inspires me, I’m hoping that in some way this scholarship will serve to inspire others.” Urban has a career-long connection with the Tamworth Country Music Festival, which began in his early days busking, and flourished when he won the Star Maker competition, aged 22. He has gone on to win 15 Golden Guitar Awards, and earlier this year was presented with the Roll of Renown, for his “extraordinary creative contributions to the Australasian country music industry.” Australia has no shortage of country talent, from ARIA Hall of Famer Kasey Chambers, to Brad Cox, Troy Cassar-Daley, and the late, great Slim Dusty. A new report from Live Nation, “Step Into Country”, found that country has lassoed new fans in Gen Z. Applications for the Rising Star Scholarship will be managed through an online submission platform at tcmf.com.au, which will launch in January 2026. The project is unveiled as Urban, winner of four Grammy Awards, thirteen CMAs (including two for Entertainer of the Year), fifteen ACMs, three AMAs, 6 ARIA Awards and 15 Golden Guitar Awards, this week embarks on his first tour of Australia since 2022. Alison Wonderland Calls Out ‘Loser Behavior’ As Trolls Flood Socials

Alison Wonderland has issued a warning to sexist online trolls: she’ll kick your asses. The Australian EDM star made her feelings known as a wave of disrespectful comments were dropped on her post, which included several fun photos of her friend and collaborator Shaquille O’Neal. As previously reported, Wonderland played a back-to-back set with Shaq (aka Shaq Diesel) at the Aftershock event in Chandler, AZ. “Dj who plays basketball, DJ with basketball in her belly = dj holding other djs belly like a basketball. It’s simple math,” she wrote on her socials. Explore See latest videos, charts and news That “belly like a basketball” is her second child. Shaq, the retired basketball superstar who, at 7’1”, is a full two feet taller than the Aussie DJ, responded with the cute message, “Love u, why is it that everytime we play a show together you’re doing a B2b with a baby?” Then, the “idiot behaviour” kicked off, as she describes it. The post was flooded with sexualized comments, which Wonderland has called out. “I see so many comments like this if I post a man next to me. And honestly I’m f—ing sick of it,” she tweeted. “Comments about how I must be fucking the person I’m in the photo with…hell, even when I announced my second pregnancy there are comments saying shit like “oh she must love getting cream pied” like bro I’m married with a kid. It’s not that crazy. Like sorry I can throw down and have a family at the same time??? (Plot twist I’m not sorry cos I’m a f—ing bad ass). Anyways…LOSER behaviour.” In a separate message on X (formerly Twitter), Wonderland threw her support behind other women in the electronic music scene who were confronted with and held-back by misogyny. “Shout out all the women in the edm scene who have to deal with fucking creeps,” she notes. “I see you. Its gross. I’ll kick all their asses for u.” Wonderland is no novice at kicking ass. The DJ and producer owns a leader on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart with 2018’s Awake, a collection that cracked the Billboard 200 at #88. All three of her LPs (Run at Number 6, Awake at Number 7 and Loner) have cracked the top 10 on the ARIA Albums Chart. She’s notched four total performances at Coachella, including a set in 2018 when she made history as the highest-billed female DJ in the festival’s history, and she has headlined the “Temple of Wonderland” at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on seven occasions. For all those wins and more, Wonderland came in at No. 5 on Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s list of the 50 Greatest Australian Electronic Acts of All Time. Wonderland (real name: Alexandra Sholler) is readying the release of Ghost World, her fourth solo studio album, due out October 3rd via EMI Music Australia. The forthcoming LP was co-written and co-produced by Alison and Dylan Ragland (Party Favor, SIDEPIECE) and mastered by Dale Becker (Billie Eilish, SZA, Omar Apollo, Doja Cat), and houses the previously-released singles “Get Started,” “Again? F—.”, and “iwannaliveinadream”. Source link

Luke Combs Says Garth Brooks Bought Him a Ford Bronco Raptor

Luke Combs once got a pretty special thank you gift from fellow country star Garth Brooks. On an episode of Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard, Combs recalled being surprised with a new vehicle after performing at an event that was honoring Brooks. “This was last Christmas and my wife was out somewhere. I was feeding my son at the dinner table in our house, and I can see like the gate,” Combs said during the interview. “And my manager’s pulling up in this Bronco. It’s just the same as his, this blue — the Raptor package. And he would never show up at my house unannounced, so I was like, ‘Man, this is kind of weird that he would show up.’ So he walks in and I’m like, ‘Well, I guess he’s giving me a Christmas present…’ So he comes in and he throws me the keys to this thing and I’m like, ‘Are you giving me your car, dude?’ Like, ‘What is this?’ “He’s like, ‘No, man, Garth [Brooks] bought you this,’” Combs recalled. “I was like, ‘What?’” Combs says, at the time, he didn’t know Brooks very well. “This is like a $90,000 car, dude!” Combs said. In 2022, Brooks was honored by the Nashville Songwriter Awards during a ceremony held at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. During that event, Combs had taken the stage to honor Brooks with a performance of Brooks’ 1995 hit “Beaches of Cheyenne.” “His team asked me to come and be one of the people that sang a song at this thing. Mine was actually ‘The Beaches of Cheyenne,’ which it was a hit, but it wasn’t like a superhit. So, he was like, ‘Yeah, this is for you coming and singing that one song.’ … I guess he had called my manager the following week, or his manager or something, [and asked] ‘What does Luke like?’ And he’s like ‘Oh, he likes cars…he has a Bronco and he likes Fords and stuff.’ And he’s like, ‘Well, I’m gonna order him a Bronco Raptor.’ Well, I guess they were on hold or something, so it took like a year to get it in. So I didn’t talk to him from that night until that thing showed up at my house. Obviously, I called him and then I had it painted.” “I called him and was like, ‘You didn’t have to do this, dude,’” Combs said, adding, “I drove 20 minutes and was there for less than an hour, dude. But he was like, ‘Yeah, but you could’ve went out and booked your own show that night and made this much money’ … and I was just kinda floored by that.” Shortly after that event in September 2022, Brooks stated on Twitter (now X), “I never felt like a songwriter until tonight when Luke Combs sang the sh$@t out of Beaches of Cheyenne! Thank you @NSAIofficial for yet another unforgettable moment in my life and career!! love, g.” Earlier this year, Brooks appeared at one of Luke Combs’s performances, joining Combs at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival to perform Brooks’s “Friends in Low Places.” Source link

JADE Slams Matty Healy for Not Speaking on Politics: ‘Disappointing’

JADE isn’t holding back when it comes to speaking up about her beliefs — and that includes calling out those who choose not to do the same about important issues. In an interview with The Guardian, the former Little Mix star shared her belief that it’s impossible to separate pop music from social and political developments. In her case, that’s meant standing up for the LGBTQ community and advocating for Palestinian people who have been suffering for years amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, to name a couple of the causes she’s championed. “I don’t think you can be a pop artist and cover your eyes,” she told the publication, before name-checking another star whose approach she disagrees with. “I saw Matty Healy say that he doesn’t want to be political, which I found disappointing.” The piece comes a couple of months after The 1975 frontman made headlines for his comments during the band’s 2025 Glastonbury set. Though Healy has previously referenced politics in songs such as 2018’s “Love It If We Made It,” the rocker had told his crowd at the time, “We honestly don’t want our legacy to be one of politics … You can go out into the world and there’s loads of politics everywhere. We don’t need more politics. We need more love and friendship.” JADE, however, thinks that Healy needs to re-examine why he’s able to make such a statement in the first place. “It’s very easy for someone who’s white and straight and very privileged to say that,” she added to the publication. “Good for you, hun!” The now soloist is currently gearing up to release That’s Showbiz Baby!, her long-awaited debut album about the highs and lows of finding global fame on The X Factor all the way back in 2011. JADE’s brazenness concerning the issues she’s passionate about translates into the songs on the album; on one track, “IT girl,” she gets brutally honest about how restricted she felt by the music industry during her time with Little Mix. “We all know what it’s about,” she recently told Billboard of the track. “It’s got a certain cheekiness — I’m a laugh-at-my-trauma kind of girl, and I really enjoy writing music that ruffles people’s feathers because that’s what art should do. Those are my experiences, and now that I’m on my own, there’s nothing holding me back from telling that truth.” That’s Showbiz Baby! arrives Sept. 12. Source link

Drake ‘What Did I Miss?’ Tops Rhythmic Airplay, Extends Chart Record

Drake wraps one of his fastest climbs to No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart as “What Did I Miss?” tops the ranking dated Aug. 23, its sixth week on the list. The single rises a spot after a 13% surge in plays on U.S. panel-contributing rhythmic radio stations in the tracking week of Aug. 8-14, according to Luminate. Drake extends his record Rhythmic Airplay No. 1 count to 42. It’s his third of 2025, following two-week champ “Nokia” in May and the one-week leader “Somebody Loves Me,” with PARTYNEXTDOOR in July. The new chart-topper pads Drake’s substantial lead over all other acts for the most No. 1s on Rhythmic Airplay since the chart launched in October 1992. Here’s the current leaderboard: 42, Drake17, Rihanna16, The Weeknd14, Chris Brown13, Bruno Mars13, Lil Wayne13, Usher As “What Did I Miss?” arrives at the summit in its sixth chart week, it caps one of Drake’s nine quickest trips to No. 1 among those 42 champs. It matches five other songs that needed mere six-week runs to the penthouse: through his feature on Rihanna’s “Work” and his own “One Dance,” featuring WizKid and Kyla, “Nice for What,” “Way 2 Sexy,” featuring Young Thug and Future, and “Rich Baby Daddy,” featuring Sexyy Red and SZA. The superstar’s “God’s Plan” and “Toosie Slide,” meanwhile, took just five weeks each to the top. His best sprint came via “In My Feelings,” which reigned in its fourth week on the chart. Elsewhere, “What Did I Miss?” rises 3-2 on the audience-based Rap Airplay chart, through a 10% jump in listenership, and 8-6 on the plays-based Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart (up 9%). Meanwhile, Drake’s eyeing another hit on Rhythmic Airplay. His collaboration with Central Cee, “Which One,” advances 29-23 in its second week on the chart, courtesy of a 49% week-over-week increase in plays. Source link

What’s Your Favorite Song of Theirs?

By now, you’ve heard about the five artists who are slated to receive Kennedy Center Honors in December – Michael Crawford, Gloria Gaynor, KISS, Sylvester Stallone and George Strait. At a press conference announcing the honorees, President Trump said he was “98% involved” in the selections and that he’ll host the televised ceremony on which these artists are saluted. While Trump’s involvement will make many view these selections through a partisan lens, we’re asking you to put that aside and simply tell us what’s your favorite song associated with this year’s honorees. We give you two choices for each honoree. For Crawford, the Tony-winning star of The Phantom of the Opera, you can choose between his two most famous solos in that show: “The Music of the Night” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” For Gaynor, you can choose between her two top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: her discofied remake of The Jackson 5’s “Never Can Say Goodbye” and her Grammy-winning No. 1 smash “I Will Survive.” For KISS, you can choose between their rock anthem “Rock and Roll All Nite” and their image-broadening ballad “Beth,” the band’s first top 10 hit on the Hot 100. For Stallone, you can choose between Hot 100-topping hits from two of his Rocky movies: Bill Conti’s “Gonna Fly Now” and Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.” Both songs were Oscar-nominated for best original song.
